I did not need to configure/add a daemon using the above command, but I can still use the devices just fine. It also offers a daemon as well, you can choose to make it work, you will be adding your user to the plugdev group - which gives privileged access to the device: sudo gpasswd -a $USER plugdev Sudo add-apt-repository ppa:openrazer/stable
